Cleveland Indians: Tribe Splits Doubleheader

8-23-11     vs. Seattle     L, 12-7     63-63

So much for Shin-Soo Choo's walk-off home run propelling the Indians to a twinbill sweep of the Mariners.
A few hours after Choo's clutch blast, Seattle shellacked the Tribe, which faded to 6 games behind the front-running Detroit Tigers in the American League Central Division.
Zach McAllister's 2nd major league start was a debacle as he allowed 8 earned runs and 10 total to the Mariners' light-hitting attack.  McAllister only lasted 3 1/3 innings, and he suffered a defeat that will punch his ticket back to AAA Columbus.
Seattle tallied 5 times in both the 3rd and 4th frames en route to an impressive victory.  Franklin Gutierrez (3 hits), Kyle Seager (3 hits), and Trayvon Robinson (4 hits) keyed the offensive outburst.
The Indians actually had opportunities to make the game interesting, but they were a dismal 3-15 with runners in scoring position.  Choo and Kosuke Fukudome did hit solo homers in the losing effort.
McAllister was in over his head on Tuesday night
