Cleveland Indians: Tribe Rides Pitching to Victory

8-29-11     vs. Oakland     W, 2-1     66-65

David Huff tossed 6 brilliant innings, the bullpen was magnificent, and the Indians opened a 4-game series against the Athletics with a win.
Huff, who was pitching for the 1st time since August 20th, hurled shutout baseball to notch his 2nd W.  Huff only yielded 3 hits while striking out 4.
The contest was scoreless until the Tribe's injury-depleted offense finally broke through in the bottom of the 6th.  Kosuke Fukudome laced a 2-out, RBI double into the right field corner after Ezequiel Carrera singled.
In the 7th, Carlos Santana belted a solo homer to right-center field, increasing the Indians' lead to 2-0.
From there, the "Bullpen Mafia" stole the show.  Tony Sipp did allow a run to score in the 8th, but Vinnie Pestano's key whiff of Josh Willingham helped Sipp and the Tribe escape further damage.  Chris Perez then worked a 1-2-3 9th to earn his 30th save.
