Cleveland Indians: Asdrubal, Pitching Lead Tribe to Victory

8-13-11     vs. Minnesota     W, 3-1     60-57

Saturday night was a microcosm of the Cleveland Indians' 2011 season.
Asdrubal Cabrera provided the offense, and the pitching was dominant.
In the bottom half of the 3rd inning, following Shin-Soo Choo's walk and Jason Donald's single, Cabrera lined a 3-run homer onto the Home Run Porch above the left field wall.
That 3-0 cushion was ample support for Josh Tomlin and the Tribe bullpen.
Tomlin held the Twins scoreless until the 7th, when Justin Morneau grounded a lead-off double past Matt LaPorta, the 1st baseman who probably should have made the play.  Tomlin induced a popup before Manny Acta turned the game over to Joe Smith.  Smith yielded a Delmon Young RBI single, but Rafael Perez worked out of the jam.
Tomlin's final numbers were solid as he surrendered only the 1 run in 6 1/3 frames.  And the Indians' relief corps would ensure that Tomlin notched his 12th win.
Tony Sipp and Chris Perez handled the 8th and 9th, respectively, without allowing even a single Minnesota batter to reach base.  Perez's scoreless 9th earned him his 25th save.
Asdrubal and the Indians have won 4 of their last 5
